Irvin Automotive/Upcoming Events

I had the opportunity this morning to speak to employees at Irvin Automotive in Pontiac. Irvin is kicking off an 8-week "Walking Works" challenge for their employees. I think it's GREAT that employers are willing to provide incentives for their employees to walk. Ultimately, the employer benefits via increased productivity and lower health insurance costs. Of course, the employee benefits the most as they hopefully establish a healthy lifestyle, experience increased energy, and set themselves up for a long and healthy life! Good luck to all of my new friends at Irvin Automotive!

For those of you that may live in my neck of the woods, I will be speaking on July 29 at 6pm at the Shiawassee Family YMCA on M-21 in Owosso. The YMCA is sponsoring a summer "Biggest Loser" contest and has asked me to come and help inspire the participants. I will also be speaking on August 5 at the Candlewick Club House in Owosso to a local TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) group. I'm sure anyone would be welcome to sit in at either event if you would like to be inspired and encouraged.

I am so blessed to have these opportunities to help average, every day Americans like me who struggle with their weight that they too can be healthy. Walking works! Combined with a healthy, common sense diet, I lost 230 pounds. There is no reason you can't do the same if you set your mind to it and fully engage in becoming a healthy individual.

On an unrelated note, I would like to encourage readers to visit my friend Jodi Davis' website and read today's blog about the incoming Surgeon General. Click on the "Links" tab above to find a link to her site. As always, please feel free to leave a comment or send me an email if you have any questions about anything. Enjoy your day!
